A remote consultation with a Dr. med. otolaryngologist allows you to consult an otolaryngologist holding a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree without visiting the clinic.

During the consultation, the doctor assesses your symptoms, previous examination and treatment results, and provides recommendations on the next steps.

The consultation may be suitable for:

  • discussing the results of previous examinations;
  • obtaining a specialist’s opinion on an existing diagnosis or treatment plan;
  • assessing changes in symptoms and whether an in-person appointment is needed;
  • clarifying which further examinations or treatments are required;
  • receiving recommendations following previous treatment or surgery.

How should you prepare for a remote consultation?

To make the consultation as effective as possible:

  • prepare information about your symptoms, their duration and any changes;
  • have records from previous appointments and examination results ready;
  • if you have had audiometry, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or other examinations, have the results ready;
  • prepare information about your medicines and previous treatments.

What happens during the remote consultation?

The Dr. med. otolaryngologist:

  • asks about the patient’s symptoms and health;
  • assesses previous examination and treatment results;
  • explains possible causes of symptoms and the next steps;
  • recommends an in-person consultation or further examinations if necessary.

What will you receive at the end of the consultation?

The patient receives:

  • a specialist’s opinion on their current health situation;
  • recommendations for further diagnosis or treatment;
  • a recommendation for an in-person appointment or further examinations, if necessary.
Important: A remote consultation does not allow a physical examination of the ears, nose and throat or in-person diagnostic procedures. If an in-person examination or test is needed to clarify the diagnosis, the doctor will recommend visiting the clinic.
