Microlaryngeal surgery

€700

Microlaryngeal surgery is a precise surgical intervention for the treatment of pathologies of the larynx and vocal cords performed under the control of a surgical microscope. This method allows you to remove vocal cords polyps, nodules, cysts, papillomas and other formations, while maintaining maximum functionality and structure.

Surgery is recommended if the patient has:

  • vocal cord polyps or nodules causing chronic hoarseness or loss of voice
  • cysts of the vocal cords that affect the function of the voice;
  • papillomas or other formations of the upper respiratory tract that change voice or make breathing difficult;
  • contact ulcers or granulomas, usually chronic cough or reflux lesions.

How to prepare for microlaryngeal surgery?

First step

at least 1–2 weeks before surgery, observe a gentle voice mode – avoid loud speech or singing;

Second step

observe the fasting regime indicated by the anesthesiologist;

Third step

inform the doctor about allergies, medications and previous experience with anesthesia;

Fourth step

quit smoking at least 2–4 weeks before surgery.

What happens during surgery?

enter the laryngoscope through the mouth, providing access to the larynx and vocal cords, without forming external scars;

with the help of a microscope accurately visualizes the larynx and identifies the pathology;

removes or treats a lesion using microsurgical instruments or laser technology.

The procedure usually takes 20–60 minutes, depending on the extent of the pathology.

What to expect after surgery?

receive strict voice mode instructions – usually 5–7 days of complete voice rest;

are informed of possible symptoms – sore throat and hoarseness in the first days;

receive guidance on dietary restrictions (soft, spicy diet);

a post-operative follow-up visit is planned to assess the recovery of voice function.

Important: The long-term outcome and full recovery of the voice depends to a large extent on strict adherence to the voice mode after surgery.
