endoscopic nose and nasopharynx examination
Nasal and nasal endoscopy is a high-precision diagnostic method for both adults and children. It allows you to view the nasal cavity, nasopharynx, nasal shells and sinus openings in detail and magnification. The examination is performed with a thin, optical instrument – an endoscope, which helps to detect inflammations, anatomical changes, polyps or enlarged adenoids that cannot be fully assessed during a routine examination.
Nasal and nasopharyngeal endoscopy is recommended if:
Timely diagnosis allows you to more accurately identify the cause of the problem and initiate appropriate treatment.
Do not use nasal sprays or drops 2–3 hours before your appointment (unless instructed otherwise by your doctor).
bring the results of previous examinations, such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images and reports, if any.
use local anesthesia (if necessary) – the nasal mucosa is treated with a spray to reduce sensitivity and make the procedure comfortable;
introduces a thin endoscope into the nasal cavity to evaluate in detail the condition of the mucous membrane, nasal septum and other structures;
performs a nasopharyngeal examination, which is critical for the diagnosis of adenoids and other formations;
records the obtained data and immediately provides an explanation of the visible pathology.
a specialist report and precise information on the further course of treatment;
Prescriptions for medication or instructions for additional examinations, if necessary
recommendations for action after the procedure.
